Friday Newsletter 2020.01.08
VOL 2, NO 2

In last weeks newsletter I announced some changes the Board of Directors made to the CAR Enrollment and AWA Fee Schedule. Complete information has been uploaded to the AWA website.

I believe this new CAR and Fee Schedule will be a great benefit to the breed and membership while also addressing the need for performance data through the CAR program.  This is important for all members of the association as new fee schedules for CAR, Registrations, and Transfers have been established.  Benefits are some lower cost options for breeders and rules I believe will be easier to understand when deciding between the Standard Herd and Verified Herd options.

To benefit from reduced fees there are important deadlines to meet.  To assist members in keeping up with these important deadlines I have included an association calendar in this newsletter that will be included in each weeks edition. The calendar will also be available on the AWA webstie.

You can find a complete list of rules and fees on the AWA website wagyu.org.

Enroll Early In CAR and Save Money

For herds enrolled in the Complete Animal Recording Program (Standard Herds) there are two inventory periods, Spring and Fall calving herds.

Spring Herd enrollment is active now and for those members who activate and enroll their cows by January 31, 2021 benefit with a $27 enrollment fee, a savings over previous years.

Spring Herd Enrollment Fee Schedule
  • $27 if enrolled before February 1
  • $33 if enrolled between February 1 and February 28
  • $36 if enrolled between March 1 and March 31
  • $39 if enrolled between April 1 and April 30
  • $42 if enrolled between May 1 and December 31
Invoices to be paid prior to the last day of the following month or fees
increase by $3 for each month past due.

Register Early and Save Money

For herds enrolled in the Verified Herd program and ET calves register those calves by 365 days of age and save on registration fees.
