The Annual General Membership Meeting and Conference of the American Wagyu Association is the breed's premier event each year bringing together Wagyu Breeders and enthusiasts from across the country and globe.

The AGM will bring you up to date regarding the health and progress of your association. Additionally, we have reached out to some of the most respected individuals in their respective fields to present educational and informative information on several topics.

We are happy to have several AWA Members and Business sponsors for this year’s Virtual AGM & Conference as we have in the past. Their financial support of the AWA is an important part for the success of the Annual Conference and programs of the American Wagyu Association. These sponsors benefit you the members regarding marketing initiatives, research, and education.

Please be sure to reach out to the Sponsors and say thank you for their continued support of the American Wagyu Association.

We still have sponsorship opportunities for the Conference. Your financial support is an important part of the success of the AWA Annual Conference but also further funds important projects to benefit the membership. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Critical Deadline Approaching for Hurricane & Wildfire Relief

Oct. 30 is the deadline to submit wildfire and hurricane disaster assistance applications with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Click here for more information.

We have covered several traits over the last several weeks. We will continue going forward to use this space to bring information to you regarding collection, reporting and using performance data.

Breeder involvement will be the key to the success of our performance programs. Increases in performance and carcass data collection won’t be because of cheerleading. It will be because breeders such as yourself makes a commitment to collect and report data.

FREE Webinar Series : Applied Reproductive Strategies in Beef Cattle

Considered the premier national event in beef cattle reproductive management, the meeting has a long history of providing the latest information on the application of reproductive technologies and includes a range of topics related to cow herd reproduction — such as nutritional interactions, management and male fertility.

The 2020 ARSBC will feature three sessions: one on Wednesday covering cows and heifers; a Thursday session covering bulls; and a Thursday evening session open to everyone but serving as continuing education for veterinarians. See the full schedule and register below. You’ll receive an email with session information and links once you register.

National Western Stock Show Postponed

Press Release: The 115th National Western Stock Show postponed until January 2022 In News by Karen Woods September 14, 2020

Denver, CO – The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) Board of Directors together with the National Western Stock Show (NWSS) management, has made the difficult decision to postpone the 115th National Western Stock Show by one year and to resume the event in January 2022.

The COVID-19 pandemic does not allow for the Stock Show to host the annual event and comply with the health and safety guidelines that are necessary to protect Coloradan’s and help stop the spread. More importantly, the projected environment through to the end of the year is too uncertain and therefore not reassuring enough to allow a traditional Stock Show to take place without potentially compromising the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors, and the public at large.
