Steps to Submitting Performance Data – #8
Continuation of Inputting Calf Data in Birth Recording Table (Click screenshot thumbnails to enlarge):
EID: Electronic Identification tag number. Enter the number assigned to the EID tag, if used.

Barcode: Sample barcode. If you have already obtained a DNA sample for the calf to submit for parent verification or other genetic testing, you can enter the unique barcode number printed on the hair or blood card, or the Tissue Sampling Unit vial here. If not, this can be entered later in the DNA Order Request form.

Disposal: Calf Status. Defaults to ‘Active’. If animal is inactive, and may have died on arrival or pre-weaning, select the most appropriate status for the calf from the dropdown menu. If a dam lost a calf on arrival or it may have died pre-weaning, the calf will need to be reported as this information will also be used in generating EPDs for the dam.

Season: Code used to identify the 90-day calving window. This will autofill based on the calf’s birthdate once you have completed and ‘Validated’ the birth recording information.

Premise/Pasture: Location of the dam at calving. Defaults to ‘Default Pasture’. If additional Pasture Groups have been created, select the most appropriate Premise/Pasture from the dropdown menu.
